New Year’s Eve Once Again

New Year’s eve is here once again,
another year has come and is gone,
as we look back from here to then,
passing quickly never seeming long.

Resolutions were made but never kept,
intentions without commitment of time,
disappeared in the night but no one wept,
this year will be no different in our mind.

Days pass like turning pages in a book,
what once was now becomes the past,
now that it’s over we step back to look,
nothing in this world was meant to last.

The coming year brings promise and hope,
in happy anticipation we wait for tomorrow,
each year is a new beginning so we can cope,
surrendering both our happiness and sorrow.

So as the midnight hour comes ever so near,
may the year bring peace, happiness and love,
as we gather together to celebrate and cheer,
HAPPY NEW YEAR a true gift from ABOVE.
