Joe Joe

My pen can speak
of stolen love;
of mountains high and valleys low.
The printed words
come of their own accord...
credited to my hand.

But to talk
about that dog
now gone from life,
is one thing
I find hard to do.

Friends are precious,
whethor human or the other kind.
Joe Joe was my companion
on long walks or
beside the glowing hearth of home.

He was just a mutt,
crossed between a beagle and
an ant-eater...
so referred to because
of an unusually long snout.

I think of him often...

Yes pets are our best friends and a extension of our loving and giving hearts to I believe. As wild as it may sound all three of my pets died shortly one right after the other...and I really believe it was because they too had a special bond above and beyond their bond with me...I too miss all of them dearly, find it hard to speak of them and think of them VERY often!
A lovely heartfelt write!

You are right in that, dogs are our best friends. Some grew with us, and it is difficult to see them go.

A heartfelt write indeed!
