I wrote this for my niece, Amber Wyrosdic Wallace, who is expecting her first baby next February.

Baby Girls

A little bit of Heaven shared

Rosy-cheeked and silken-haired

Chubby fingers wrap around your heart

She’s your little angel from the start

Teensy pink dresses with miles of lace

Ruffles and ribbons and the sweetest little face

A mouth like a rosebud you can’t help but kiss

Powder-scented hugs, the true meaning of bliss

So many wonders we have from the Lord above

He sends us the gift of his precious love

But of all the blessings we have in this world

Nothing can compare to a baby girl

Hi Joyce,I read your poem,"Baby Girls". I found it delightful. My wife and I only had boys. I do and did love them but as cute as they were,I always regretted not fathering a daughter also.
