My mother told me to read the scriptures below the same day I saw the email about the poetry contest. I never intended to post this poem.

During Alpha
There was light
During Omega, darkness took flight
As hatred became infectious
Greed grew like a seed
Loving neighbors became nonexistent
Because seizing territory became every leader's intent
To destroy and occupy
One could only fathom how many will die
The future will tell
Once it begins, the human race will rebel
Yelling and yelling as the uranium blasts pound
As the mushrooms formed above the ground
Vibration waves destroyed everything in its path
Miles and miles came winds of wrath
Blood and guts everywhere
The living remain motionless in dispair
Gasping for the cleanliness of poluted air
As the Earth's floor begins to tear
Becoming totally consumed by the seas
Disease is infectious through swarming bees
The seas are red
Everyone is dead
Nature becomes unbalanced
Earth is no more
Forevermore
