Into the Darkness
Light fades

Sounds of lost souls
Echo in my head

Each had a name
Once long ago

But now just images
Trapped in time

Each had a purpose
Task left undone

Now forever sentenced
To walk the shadows alone

Always aware
Seldom seen

Condemned to
Eternal Misery

A glimpse you may catch
From the corner of your eye

Their sadness consumes
In the dark of the night

Great write Bertram..too bad those souls had to be lost...if they had looked to the Light they wouldn't have ended up in the darkness....but WAIT...then you wouldn't have a poem...LOL...enjoyed reading this dark did well.Floria
