In the silence of the night
I waited patiently for his answer
My heart panted quietly as a child

Life does strange things to the heart
it sometimes leaves an open scar
No eyes can see what lies within
only the Lord can see that far

Sometimes the fears have shut you in
and you don't know what to do
You have so much, you want to unload
but, who can you tell it too

At night your pillow awaits you
left with the tears of the night before
Then you wonder if God will come by
because that problem you want no more

But if it seems that he's a little slow
don't worry for he's never ever late
so just rest your mind, he'll be on time
for he always keeps his date

Just cast all your care upon his shoulders
lay everything down, at his feet
For he's willing to take, every one of your burdens
and all your needs, he'll also meet
