Dissection in Pain

Pain is an endless yearning

a time of weakness

& the fall of illusion

Pain is the soul of love betrayed

anxiety’s playground

& the gift of a callous heart

Pain is the thought before the tears

a lie reheard

& deception revealed

Pain is everything fallen apart

a shattered dream

& the foundation of mistrust

Pain is the loss of innocence

a treaded respect

& the deepest of hurts ignored

Pain is the remnant of a discarded bond

a promise corroded

& the most silent of screams

Pain is the home of the defeated

a nightmare undreamt

& the price of blind faith

Pain is the void in a broken soul

a tortured memory

& the nothing that’s left inside

Pain is the ghost of all that remains

the last becoming

& the final emotion

Excellent! You truly understand the layers and layers of pain that corrode the human soul.
