Absent Companion
Will you walk with me again?
When the final whistle blows?
Over the hills, by the lake
Where the verdant pasture grows?
Will you ride along the paths
In the forests of the deep?
And where night is never dark
Together a watch will keep?
Will you walk with me again?
At the end of present time?
In valleys filled with flowers?
In a warmer, sunnier clime?
Will you ride on tranquil sea?
In a boat our thoughts can guide?
Where endless light surrounds us
Forever, we shall abide
