Poem from book, 'Kaleidoscope BOOK 2' by Dr Audrey Coatesworth
About angels
His mother sat by his bed
Her child had been so ill
That she was made to wonder
‘Could he a future life fulfill?’
‘Do you think angels cry?’
He asked her once again
‘Can they see the children?
Who suffer and have pain
Do you think that angels
Have wings that really fly?
Can they travel very fast?
Somewhere in the sky
Do angels stand by my bed?
And are they dressed in white?
How can they possibly find me?
In the middle of the night’
She wanted to answer carefully
But didn’t know what to say
His questions were important
She must try to find a way
‘We do not know the answers
As angels cannot tell
But if a child is hurting
An angel hears a special bell
Any pain a child must have
Their own special angel feels
They never forget to care
Even when the problem heals
Angels love all children
So their precious time they give
But never will an angel
An unkind deed forgive
So, just shut your eyes and then
Sleep till the morning light
Tomorrow will soon be here
And gone will be this night’
The mother, quite exhausted
Had a thought within her head
‘We shall take care of him’
Eventually, she went to bed
