Am I Naughty?
I met a boy, who had become
As naughty as you could find
He made a lot of noise and fuss
But mostly, he wasn't kind
"Why do you behave this way"
I asked. He said to me
"I do not know, I just do
I'm not happy, can't you see?"
"It's in my head and tummy
My fighting hands and feet
I feel frightened that there is
A scary monster I must meet"
'Little boy, fear not and listen
That monster can go away
You need a friend to talk to
And have some fun each day
When you can behave kindly
Listen and smile instead
Then your days will be happier
With no monsters in your head
Bad times are very difficult
But one thing that I do know
Kindness to another makes
The smallest light to grow
Bigger, brighter, like a star
It can shine every day
And others then will see it
And near you want to stay
So, will you let your light shine?
That would seem only fair"
The little boy replied to me
"I didn't know that it was there"
