A photo helps one see, think, and find a poem within. This scene inspires one's mind to the possibilities of fantasy.

The huge conifer clings to the stream bank
Passing water left its mighty roots exposed
Twisted and curving pillars of strength
Foundation of a world reaching into depths unknown
Shadowed creatures call, "Come in . . ."

Who or what dwells here?
Water Rat from The Wind in the Willows?
A gnome of Narnia?
Orks? Or the foot of an Ent in Middle Earth?
A place Harry Potter's friends fear?
Yoda's abode on the Bog Planet?
Or . . . some character whose tale has yet to be told?

Whether one sees a haven from dark forces
Or the entrance to the villain's lair
Lies in the individual's imagination

Awesome picture, and very interesting write! One's imagination could indeed conjure creatures from other worlds. Loved it!

Hi Deborah, I read your poem,"Fantasy's Front Door". I found the words you used to discribe the thoughts that may occur to one who would come across such a wonderful tree,so rightand full of wonder themselves. Well done. Please feel free to visit my site here in the 'Den'.

I love the way you expressed this, Deborah. I am a huge fan of "Lord of the Rings" and "Harry Potter." I've been accused of never having grown up. Oh well. Mayhaps that's why I love your poem so much. It's all good. Love and peace to you and thank you,

Regis
