CALVARY
On Calvary upon a tree
Christ bowed His head for you and me
With outstretched arms I heard His plea
Forgive them Father lay the charge on Me
The tender compassion in His Eyes
Was enough to make man realize
That He whom they'd just despised
Was the Son of God whom they crucified
The cross on which He had been hung
Was an act of God and of His will
For on the cross His blood did spill
To relieve sinners of their stubborn will
Calvary today for you and me
Is that we might be set free
As we bow down upon our knees
Worship with a desire Him to please.
