Each and Every Christmas Holiday Season

Rebecca and I honor our own ancient ancestry

But the fact that she doesn’t care for my Polish food

Does not take away from my own ethnic Holiday glee

Eighty Percent in the U.S. profess Christianity

Yet the phrase ‘Happy Holidays’ upsets so many

No one can rob you of your religious beliefs

Unless you relinquish them and don’t have any

Whether you say ‘Merry Christmas’

Or simply shout ‘Happy Holidays’

Both Rebecca and I Wish You All

A Most Joyous Christmas Day

May You Celebrate This Holiday

Any Way That You Yourself Choose

Whether it’s Honoring Religion and Heritage

Or Simply Taking a Relaxing Christmas Snooze

Whether it’s Gathering Round the Tree

With Your Precious Friends and Family

Or whether it’s a Stroll through the City

Gazing at the Holiday Decorations with Glee

Whether it’s a tranquil Walk in the Woods

To ponder Nature or a Special Christmas Past

We Both Hope Your Day is Truly a Joyous One

Filled with Holiday Memories Which Will Last

Now you've gotta excercise. As you did polish off the Polish grub. Sounds like a relaxing Christmas. I'm sure you said merry christmas last year too. Merry Chrismas. (Merry Christmas in English)

It is amazing how every language has a way to say "Merry Christmas" yet we are told that the very word Christmas is too offensive for some to hear. My faith is within my heart and no one can take it away from me and because of that fact, I am never offended when I see others celebrating holidays that are important to them, even if they are not holidays that are part of my beliefs. If Americans were passionate about only one thing, that thing would certainly be freedom. We want the freedom to believe and celebrate in whatever fassion we choose. If I say Merry Christmas, what harm could that possibly do?...and if someone wishes me a Happy Hanukkah or a Happy Kwanza, I find it to be a kindly gesture much like saying "Have a great day." Let freedom reign and let us all feel free to celebrate our holidays as we see fit. Merry Christmas, Ed and Rebecca! Take care, Sherry

And Merry Christmas to you, Rebecca, and as Sara said, all your dear furry and feathered ones. Gotta tell you a funny, Ed. I had decided to boycot all the merchants who'd adopted 'Happy Holidays' over 'Merry Christmas'. Last night, I went to Mejers to do a small shopping to include food. Everyone, including cashiers, said: Merry Christmas. I was happy and walked out of the store wearing a big smile, and carrying a big bag that said in big letters: 'Happy Holidays'. That goes to show you: It's what's in your heart that counts, the bag is disposable. :-) Carmen

Whats "back at ya" in polish and apache...LOL? Either way, back at ya...Rufuz and I are going to the shore, ostensibly to do the laundry, (boring) but for dinner on a deck overlooking the ocean...maybe a bit cool, but it is a nice way to celebrate the season...So, HAVE A VERY, VERY, MERRY, MERRY, HAPPY, HAPPY HOLIDAY TO YOU BOTH AND THE ASSORTED ANIMALS IN YOUR ZOO...!
