Anyone who abuses an animal ought to have the same thing done to them, sans painkiller. :( Terrible, terrible - shouldn't happen to a dog, cat, horse, bird ... thank you for speaking out for the defenseless, Ed. You are their champion.

Being a dog owner I dont know who could possibly do that dogs are like best friends who wont stab you in the back and will always listen to you. Its just another Why? Why would someone do that? |

Not good at all. Makes one wonder if these kinda people can tell the difference between killing a spider or a person...
Unless you kill a spider in front of a buddest. He thinks you've killed his uncle from his last life...
Sad indeed... |

Picture a family where the father is a lawyer, the mother, a teacher with two teenage children. They were my neighbors on Wilmington Island. Very friendlt people that a few were carpooling to school with kids. OIne day, picked up the newspaper and there they were. Animal control went to their home and found an emaciated Doberman, malnourished, inable to walk from being kept in a cage that wasn't tall enough and covered with sores and scads of fleas. can you believe it? Not one neighbor knew they had a dog they kept secluded. Well they were spread all over the news. The husband said he thought the wife (she taught third grade)was feeding the dog and she said he was supposed to be feeding the dog. They were fined heavily and did community service. The teacher kept her job.
Neighbors who live in our lives when nobody really knows the private side. It's a sad world.
Love and blessings!

ED ... I LIKE HOLLY'S DAD'S METHOD - FOR CAPITAL PUNISHMENT OF INHUMAN CRIMINALS.
CRUEL & UNUSUAL? MAYBE THAT'S WHAT WE NEED TO IMPLEMENT...
MAYBE WATCHING OTHERS SUFFOCATE, AS THEY DROWN WOULD BE REAL DETERRENT?
A SWIFT DEATH IS TOO GOOD FOR THEM! LET THEM SUFFER, AS THEIR VICTIMS DID!

This just breaks one's heart...to see animals such as this. Happened in Ft.Wort yesterday: 5 pit bulls that had been left alone, chained in home back yard (chained so closely they could not move around), unfed and unwatered; wound-proofs they had been forced to fight. When picked up by Ft.W. Animal Rescue, they didn't bark or growl...too weak. One dog found starved to death. And their future? Euthanization withing 10 days. Police looking for owner...mean, Godless, unscrupled people these are!!

| I agree. For years, I would not allow myself to like any animal. My Father had no use for them. I witnessed him killing newborn kittens; tied in a plastic bag filled with water kicking and squirming in the water until they were all dead.Crying made no difference; I was told they were nothing and simply less to feed. Those memories stayed with me for a long time before I allowed myself to get close to animals. Love Holly |

Powerful and heartbreaking pen; God be with Angel and those who care for her, nurse her back to health!
