War is Hell Enough For Soldiers,

Without Any of This

“U.S. soldiers face death and danger from shoddy electrical work at their bases in Iraq,

Raising further questions about our heavy reliance on private contractors.

“The Army says 13 soldiers have been electrocuted in Iraq since the invasion in March 2003,

But internal documents show many other injuries from electrical fires.

“As recently as June, an electrical fire destroyed 10 buildings at a base in Falluja,

Forcing Marines to ask for donations to replace their belongings.

“During just one six-month period — August 2006 through January 2007 —

At least 283 electrical fires destroyed or damaged American military facilities in Iraq, including the military's largest dining hall in the country.”

Today’s New York Times

Multi-Billion Dollar Contracts

To a well connected company

That seems to run everything

For our military – from A to Z

They have built the numerous housing units

In which our troops shower in tainted water

They’ve utilized substandard electrical work

Endangering America’s sons and daughters

They are supposed to feed our valiant soldiers

Pentagon auditors find millions in overpayments

They charge the government for meals not served

And our troops wonder where their hot meals went

A respected Army Auditor is summarily fired

When he won’t approve a blank ‘billion in fees’

Now, they’re getting billions more in oil contracts

As they sock it to taxpayers, including you and me

And in case you are wondering who this company is

It’s a subsidiary of our Vice President’s old company

We seem to be financing this so called ‘war on terror’

Not for our valiant soldiers, but for our insatiable greed

So, when you hear this administration chiding Congress

For being unpatriotic, in no longer wanting to finance war

Please remember that our valiant troops are the ones suffering

Greed and cronyism and profit rule our nation, like never before

Exposing the reality behind certain contracts. It sometimes happens that a contractor builds houses from poor materials and paints the walls with bright veneer to hide the truth but with a slight earthquake the buildings would fall upon themselves like a pile of a cardboard. Tuth gets exposed by itself if hidden somwhere far away from our eyes.

ED - just another NAIL in the COFFIN of WAR!

WHY wouldn't the Army Corps of Engineers be qualified to do such contracting work?
WHY couldn't our own Army Cooks prepare meals like they always did in the past?
WHY should thousands of armed mercenaries like Blackwater be ALLOWED to be overpaid and PROFIT over there? WHY aren't our military vehicles being GASSED UP for FREE?
WHY IS CONGRESS DRAGGING ITS FEET - and NOT IMPEACHING our two top TYRANTS?
WHY are they also ALLOWING these LYING CROOKS who are LAME DUCKS to continue in their MALFEASANCE of OFFICE? WHY - WHY - WHY?

THIS WHOLE STINKING FARCE MAKES ME WANT TO PUKE!

HANG 'EM HIGH !!! Tom.

Valiant soldiers, serving, giving their lives, in innocence of their effort, the other a coniving greedy morally reprehensible entity, serving it's on interest. You said it well Ed!
Why shoot the enemy without, when all the time he is within. Greed in my book, in this case should be equated with treason, and those involved summarily put against the wall and shot, starting with the top henchmen!

Sad but very true and we can only wonder when it will end and where the next one will be started...one of my books was called the Canadian Loyalists and it was a fictional attack and take over of Canada by the US...hope it never comes to that.

SO RIGHT, Ed! Been this way since the git-go planning of this war; how else could the 'cronies' get in Iraq at-the-ready? And why are we not impeaching these ex-ecutives? War Crimes personified...maybe 6 mos-1 year at GITMO would change their attitudes and ways of thinking...nah, their too entrenched...
