As frantic construction now continues,

On 100-Ton ‘Oil Containment Domes,’

This is What the Sage BP Spokesman Says,

“We Don’t Know For Sure, If This Will Work.”

Remember the 1998 movie, Armageddon?

A huge asteroid, the size of Texas, is on the way

A deep core drilling team, is dispatched to ‘nuke it’

And they have no idea, if they can really save the day

Many of us really laughed at the premise of this movie

And today, we now find ourselves, in the same situation

Yet, until recently, many were yelling, ‘Drill, Baby, Drill’

A slogan and an attitude, that today, has very little elation

Because of the extremely callous attitude, in our naïve nation

We’ve allowed Big Business to drill, over a mile under the sea

We’ve allowed them free reign, with no containment capability

And now, we don’t even know, what the outcome of this will be

What if, this untested idea of theirs, doesn’t work?

What if, this horrendous oil spill, cannot be stopped?

What will happen, to our Gulf and Eastern Seaboard?

What will happen, to marine life, and to our fishing crop?

An entire way of life, could soon be decimated – forever more

Entire species of mammals, birds, and fish – could be wiped out

Our once thriving Gulf Coast, could soon become ‘The Dead Sea’

And have we learned anything yet – this, I, for one, seriously doubt

Many Still Foolishly Maintain,

That Mankind Could Never,

Ever, Destroy Our Planet,

No Matter What We Do To It.

DOOMSDAY? Time will tell ... Consider this - the First Time, the Earth was destroyed by God by FLOOD - there are those that believe that the Second Destruction will be by FIRE.

Many millions, for many decades, have thought it would be by Nuclear War - remember as a kid in school - "Duck and Cover!"?

But, just like in a salad dressing - Oil and Water don't MIX! But, what if so much oil keeps gushing out, that it eventually becomes a SEA OF FIRE? True, that a simple match would go out, if throw lit into a pail of oil - the ignition point is much higher - BUT - these so-called
'experts' are purposely trying to 'BURN IT OFF!' DUH!

OXYGEN SUPPLY CUT OFF BY THE OIL - plant and animal life DIE! Noxious black fumes of smoke fill the sky, worsening the CO2 level, and global Warming - Shipping lanes and Oceanic transportation become Crippled ...

Think of this, the entire Archimedes' Principle of Buoyancy is based on Flotation in WATER - NOT OIL! Will heavily-laden vessels of steel simply SINK?

ARMAGEDDON? "You Bet your BP!" ... TK.

P.S. - Rhetorical Question -

WHY did we, the USA, ALLOW a Foreign Corporation, BRITISH PETROLEUM -

Very sad indeed! When will mankind learn from his mistakes?

Sadly, the question becomes...Can we save it? I believe we can, together as one.

This is not an oil spill though, its a geyser, and underground tap! They don't know how to plug it off, and its in a mile of water to even get to it in murky muddy seabed..My feeling is that its a main arterial, and will have other veins running off of it..Pluggin it will only cause a weaker spot elsewhere, and a blow out in another spot. They are delving into the unknown, in arrogance didnt do the homework before drilling, and now the waters will be like that of deadmans blood. All marine life will die, coastlines destroyed, and species wiped from the earth!
It's not armageddon, it's a plague, that will lead to economic crash, which leads to many other horrible things...Study crash of 29..Already the ecomomy is suffering because export/import cannot go on as per usual. Rev 11.18 is a good place to read, as man has done this, and God said he would destroy those who destroy the earth and it's inhabitants. It will bring on other cataclysmic events, laws, time of trouble as never before, and the the final events b4 Chirst returns, to save those who want to be saved.. This is my belief, my opinion. It's sad to see young teens in school coming home, freaked out, believing its all over bah the shouting, as the young minds fiercy comprehend, that our planet is in tatters and there is no hope, cept for intervention, divine intervention for those who believe.
Walt is right, the population will decrease, plagues pestilence, more earthquakes, until the we are so shaken to the roots, the core of our beings..Like a woman in labour, back to back pains, no relief, till delivery.
God bless U all

I find it hard to say more than what everyone else has said so far, but I got to hope that the oil companies fix the problem before it gets to my favorite beach and such...I hate to be selfish, but I love my beach & to see it outlined in black crude would be the worst...Ed

I have long thought that our ultimate end would not come with a bang, but a whimper, not nuclear disaster, but some other mistake on mankind's part. What would happen if instead of one well there were three that broke at the same time? Or my worst fear, a "Designer Plague" virus gets loose and oops....there goes 90% of mankind.
Ed my friend, Armageddon may already be upon us.

Keep on writing! I'm hopeful this oil slick is a shake-up call that shakes us to the very core to work toward passive sources of energy! Thanks!
