Abstracting Blue Periods

Expressionism is a dark blue lake
keyed by bright silver light
on a gold green background forest,
with fine lines and glossy streaks
matted against a pane of parched canvas.
framed in a oakwood dysphasia.
The artist's broad imagining of a lone boat
reflects his sober mood. Lost in his work of art.

Abstraction is a sky blue gallery
a long hallway mural, far as the eye can see
epic in complexity, reflecting bodies without faces
arms for legs, feet instead of hands in battle
gradually, growing into form from a schizophrenic pattern
of greens and yellows mixed with red and white canvases;
paper and cloth combined with water and charcoal colors
mixed in ammonia hazes, sun and moon combine
with a house half built on the edge of a cliff surrounded by hills
a water fall looms in the distance.

A character struggles to grow
as his creator grows with him.

A few lines about an artist reflecting his art.
