Ode to Bedside Manners

You loved me

with the box of lotioned kleenex

obtained for my sore nose;

I commend you for staying in our bed

instead bailing to the couch

when I coughed like an old Chevy backfiring;

never once did you remark

that I wore granny pajamas,

(clean ones right after showering,

but still, jammies all day)

and you made me giggle,

(that alone could have killed me!)

You didn't mind

that chicken soup and clam chowder

formed the base of our food pyramid

for a week.

You brought me a perfect

cup of tea,

Got up to check when I was sleepless

and breathless at 3:30 AM

And now, the kindest act of all,

This despicable cold fled me,

and you took it upon yourself.

just to show support,

I think.

Or maybe to give me a turn

at toting you tea and vitamins

and rubbing your feet?

Awwww...well, to be honest, there are a few things I would just rather not share...bathrooms and the flu are two of those things. At least you got to be pampered first, and hopefully he will recover much more quickly than you did.
Take care,

Very romantic Bess and very caring and touching too. That is what a marriage, relationship, or engagement, is all about. Being there for the other, regardless of what it may be. I loved reading this Bess. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little den sister, Barbie

Truly sounds like true love to me, Bess - but make sure he's wearing clean jammies now!
