Can you hear, taste, and smell summer in the air?

Summer languor wraps us round
Like a cloud of eiderdown.

She sizzles with activity
 While we wilt in lethargy

She drizzles in the rain,
sings a lullaby refrain.

And the weeds grow in the cracks...
Summer hasn't any tact.

She is never merely passive
But aggressive and proactive.

She seduces us to sit,
While, with scintillating wit,
She produces a plethora
Of fauna and flora.

good write,

my only experience of a texan summer was a week or so in corpus --- i remember wimpering as we scuttled from a/c house to a/c car then we spent a few days staring down the barrel of a hurricane. i'll take 40 below any day!
