|Your poem touches on a hurtful topic when a person we have given our trust to fails to keep his/her word to us.
My father always said, "A man's word is his honor, and if we say we'll do something, we should do it at all cost."
A fine piece of writing with a worthy message,

|For many when we make a promise to one another and then we do make the mistake of breaking it in some kind of way.. Well done..Thanks Patrick|

|People should never make any promises, unless they mean it.
Also, there are differences in saying that:
"I will do that."
"I will do that, I promise."
So when somebody say to you, "I will do it." does not normally mean a promise to you, rather, it was a commitment to the speakher himself/herself. It bears no obiligations to others rather than the speaker.
That is the difference between a promise and an obligation.

|100% I agree, except in the case of sex when you discover the S.O.B. is foul with his clothes off or pulls out whips and chains and is very much into your feeling pain, then I think you can break a promise. ;-) Sorry, too many logic classes.
Oh, fantastic writing, you sexy man. I almost forgot.

|The power of what we say, is more important then what we do. No one seems to forget a broken promise. Good advice!|
