There are many doors in life waiting to be opened. Each one can lead to a different journey in your life. The heartbreak is not which doors to choose, but rather not opening enough of them.

The door I want to enter,

the one that makes me smile,

is the one less opened,

the trip that’s been a while.

The door I’d like to enter,

the one I wish each day,

secures the path to my goals,

the one that shows the way.

The doors I need to open,

are clearly my own choice.

If I’m to build the future

I must listen to my voice.

I wish there was a peak hole

for a taste of what's in there,

the door with my own preview

so my dreams can meet the where.

I hold the key to enter,

my words, my steps, my thoughts,

the excitement that awaits me

I accept the paths I bought.

The door I close behind me,

the one I just stepped through,

paints the ‘morrow plainly,

my happiness with you.

A challenge, one bridge you have not crossed...
A goal you already have in mind and wish to achieve :)
For my thought a process here to secure a final happiness
with the lovely wife in your life who has stood beside you
all the way...

Right or wrong :)

I like the way this chimes with Frost's 'less traveled' road.

Oh, yes! If we could only see what lies behind each door before we choose! 'Looks like you chose the right one!

Life certainly is like opening doors and finding surprises behind them...but if we don't open the doors, we'll always wonder what might have's called living....Nicely done, Michael!

A thought provoking poem, it made me think if I'm opening the right doors in my life. Very cleverly writtten, Michael.

This is very good, Michael. I particularly are impressed with the simplistic approach to a more then likely a convoluted trial and error we all must go through in the opening of our own special doors.
