A Glimpse Of The Soul
Let me ask of you a question,
concerning matters of the heart,
When you look upon the still waters
of an invisible but raging sea,
Do you ever imagine, or hear their cries,
though they are eons and dimensions apart?
What of when you look upon the Blue Mountains
or taste of the crumbling sky,
Do you feel their presence,
or is that feeling just an echo of your own hearts sigh?
Do you even know that they once held forth
their broken reflections for all of mankind to see?
Yet now they are but shallow vessels, too mournful to speak.
So tell me now with a sincere and open mind,
Do you believe that what was once before, still is and somehow ever present?
Can it be that all that remains of reality is trapped in that other time?
And what of these words as spoken
through the secret whisper of this most humble peasant.
Are they read with a guarded tongue…or passed off as mere token?
So tell me now, and speak in truth,
are their days that once were… the same as mine?
Are they all tarnished and forgotten
through these empty portals of an eclipsing time.
If it is so…then pray tell how would this liberal heart of mine know,
Unless you allowed unto me to taste of your own hearts lament,
And hereunto acquiesced to me a glimpse into your very soul.

Eyes that fail to see, lips, which refuse to speak,
Failings of broken hearts…lives, which know not peace.
