The Sea Of Love
Waves of the rolling sea tossed against the small boat.
Waves of emotion consumed a heart already broke.
A Box of memories and a red and white wreath held in hand.
A Release that was born of grief upon my promise miles from land.
With eyes cast downward I starred at the memories in which I held.
I spoke a few words in remembrance; I said a soft and solemn prayer.
I then with a gentle kiss sealed the box and gave Leah over to the oceans mighty swells.
I watched through hot tears as what was so much a part of me drift gently away.
I listened to the vast oceans silence; I watched heartbroken as I gave Leah back to the sea this day.
“Oh Lord I cried, bless all those that both see and of these words hear”.
“Bless them with a Godly love that they shall share with those they hold so dear.”
“Keep now their hearts fixed and their eyes secure to the one that they so love”
And God, oh sweet God, bless our box of memories on its lone journey with a special touch from above”.
