Yesterday Seems to be…

Yesterday seems to be a lifetime ago.

So many memories lost now in the silence of snow.

Gray now is the white areas amidst the quiet hush…

Swirling, drifting evermore in the depth of yesterday’s touch.

Faces of the past are like dreams, intangible and in reality unseen.

Their voices still echo in the dark chambers of my mind.

Names unattached, faces unseen, only ancient memories now from another time.

Oh yesterday seems…oh the silence of snow.

Memories like dreams coalesce as the darkness grows.

I see them, I hear them, but of them I no longer even know.

Oh yes, yesterday to me seems to be a lifetime ago.

Thank God for yesterday....so many wonderful souls come into our life to touch our heart with their memory. Memories....a lifetime to hold on to.

God bless you,

Muted images from the past...I understand, but happily I find the pain of past events is muted too...A beautiful wistful poem..
Best wishes, Diana...

Yes, "yesterday seems to be" so very far in the past, so far gone that we can only of it remember, but have to let it go at last...e

interesting collection of idea and image here... I like what you do with time in this poem... I read this just after I posted my poem today... "as we dance along alone" ... you might want to give it a look, because it is striking just how resonant our themes are... I would venture to say that we share the same spirit.
