A summing up of a typical night--and what always comes.

Before I go to bed, I say my prayers.
Who knows what may come during the night?
A stroke, heart attack, or I may stop breathing.
I lie in darkness, like a restless corpse.
Dreams come....
     then the waking....

Everything is made new.
