SIX MILLION PLUS SEVEN

AND YE HERITAGE IS IN JEOPARDY,
THE WORDS RANG LIKE A PARODY.
HOPE FOR UNITY WAS RAMPANT,
JUSTICE FOR PAST DISCRIMINATION OBSCURE.
BELIEVING THE PRAYERS AS THEY WERE CHANTED,
KNOWING NOT, BUT PLEADING TO BE SURE.
GOD AND HIS MERCY---A CRY HEARD IN HEAVEN,
BODIES LIKE LICE, SIX MILLION PLUS SEVEN.

HOMES ONCE LACED WITH LOVE AND LAUGHTER
NOW ABOLISHED FOREVER AFTER.
WORKSHOPS ONCE ACTIVE AND FILLED
BY FIRE DESTROYED AND STILLED.
LOVE SHARED AS ARMS EMBRACED ONE ANOTHER,
NOW, LONELINESS AND DEATH SEPARATE SISTER FROM BROTHER.
WHY, OH WHY, I CRY TO HEAVEN?
GONE ARE MY FAMILY, GONE ARE SIX MILLION PLUS SEVEN.

WHAT FAITH DOES ONE CLING TO WHEN ALL IS LOST?
HOW MUCH FOR A SOUL, CAN YOU ESTABLISH A COST?
I SEARCH MY HEART FOR PEACE AND BELIEVING,
BUT IT'S JUSTICE I WANT FOR ALL THE DECEIVING.
WHERE DO I LOOK TO AVOID THE PAIN I SEE?
MY HERITAGE, DEAR GOD, WAS STOLEN FROM ME.
WHY? WHY, I CRY TO HEAVEN?
GONE FOREVER ARE SIX MILLION PLUS SEVEN.

NO TIME TO SAY FAREWELL TO THOSE WHO MATTERED
THEIR BODIES, NOW, ARE ASHES THAT LAY SCATTERED.
NO CHANCE TO SEE THE BABY BLOSSOM WITH LIFE
OR THE YOUNG BOY GROW UP AND TAKE A WIFE;
NO VISION OF A MOTHER TENDING TO HER HOME
OR OF PAPA PRAYING FROM A TEMPLE OF STONE.
GOD, WHERE WAS YOUR MERCY, I ASK UP TO HEAVEN?
GONE, FOREVER, ARE SIX MILLION PLUS SEVEN.
