CRY FOR THE CHILDREN

CRY FOR THE CHILDREN WHO HAVE NO HOME
CRY FOR THE PEOPLE WHO GO THROUGH LIFE ALONE
CRY UNTIL YOU FEEL THE ANGER AND THE PAIN
THEN STAND WITH HUMANITY
SO NONE WILL KNOW DEPRIVATION AGAIN.

LIFT YOUR EYES TO HEAVEN
LET GOD HEAR YOUR VOICE
TELL THE HEAVENS
SOME ARE GIVEN LITTLE CHOICE.

LIFT YOUR EYES
OPEN UP YOUR HEART
STAND WITH YOUR FELLOW PERSON
TOGETHER IS WHERE TO START.

SOME SEE A WORLD OF MAJESTY
SILVER, GOLD AND TAPESTRY,
WHILE HUNGER THREATENS THE LIVES OF OTHERS;
ONLY ACTION CAN SAVE OUR SISTERS AND BROTHERS.

CRY FOR THE CITY THAT IS FILLED WITH GRIEF
CRY FOR THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE LOST THEIR BELIEF
THEN FIGHT FOR THE HUNGRY, HOMELESS, AND THE ABUSED
LET IT BE HEARD---NO SOUL SHALL REMAIN BRUISED.

THIS IS THE NEW GENERATION OF US
WE WILL SHOUT, RISE UNITED; MAKE A FUSS.
WE WILL CRY WHEN ONE OF US BLEEDS
ANSWER THE CALL WHEN PEOPLE ARE IN NEED.

PASSION WILL EMERGE WITH EACH VOICE
STANDING TOGETHER SO EACH HAS A CHOICE
SHELTER AND FOOD AND WARMTH FOR ALL
A LAND WHERE EVERYONE CAN STAND TALL.

CRY FOR THOSE WHO KNOW NO LAUGHTER
A TEAR FOR THE WORN, OPPORTUNITY FOR THE BATTERED.
THEN STAND UNTIL BETTER DAYS TAKE OVER---
TOGETHER WE CAN FIND THE FOUR LEAF CLOVER.
