as you write
to write with hands clasped as if you were
setting a prayer free.
a prayer free of mere words but with a sense
held dear and gratefully in genuinely
blessed palms.
a prayer of fingers intertwining warm
perceptions with gentle resonances
from further within.
to write like a caress; a tender line
of unutterable contemplations smoothly moving
along the whiteness of the page and gradually
becoming discernible and multihued
in wonder read aloud.
aloud, yet in whispered gifts of love
that lips return to the soul of eyes
with the simple reverence of kisses
upon infinites dreamed.
to write those dreams with the script
of streams that have already exulted
in the salt of oceans and parables
of sunsets mused to distant shores.
to write those shores with the closeness
of time without end even as the sand
courses down the glass.
to actually decant the clarity of arrival
into that side of time and then turn it
on its axis so that the grains of the journey
will begin to flow again.
to write beyond the brumes and wisely
shatter darkness to share the wholeness
of dawn mirrored in other skies.
to inscribe songs upon those skies
like a bird of pure joy.
to write of life as if you were constantly
rising and falling above and deeper
than its other side.
in all wideness of light and all absence
of fear.
to write as you write.
with hands clasped to a listening heart.
as if you were setting the decipherability
of answers to all prayers free.
