Dark purple shadows streak
where my heart used to be Pink

The coward in You, packed
your bags...called me at work,
and said you were leaving our
marriage of many years

"Wait for me" your cheating heart
said "till I can get it back together"

~That was the day You sold your soul~

Trial and Tribulation ensued...
much too full of hurt, anger and mistrust,

but after a few years, I picked up the
pieces and became the better for it all

The dark purple stains remain,
a reminder that I have risen above
the sorrow, and flourish in the sweet
calming bliss of my new lover's heart

Weathering the storm, awakening
for the dawning on the rays of a new
life sharing the sun from both sides
with love restored in the pink

Another quite intense piece, Vivian. The emotions in this poem seem heartfelt. We all hope to break free of feelings of betrayal and to move on to a better life with someone more worthy of our love. Seems like your character did.

Trials and tribulations, though at the time are so devastating, with faith and time, healing scars can give strength...a bouquet of pink carnations for you~

Vivian,
the sense of recovery and moving on
is what makes this so worthwhile;
that's the only way in those circumstances.
Well delivered indeed.

Happy that it all worked out better for you, Vivian, which, if we but give it a chance it will do that most of the time.
