With the game of football
some teams will claim victory
some will walk away in a state
from the grievance of a loss

We the fans take it so personal
for us it can be the magic as well
as the skill of the game, especially
for the arm chair quarterbacks once

Brady and the Patriots or Manning
and the Giants...may it be one hell of a
2012 Super Bowl game when the winner
takes all Ah! but for the fans comes the
bragging rights from our own sidelines

Gathering for all or
all for one...but, for some it just
means pass the hors d'oeuves and
perhaps just plain magic of the
commercials will do some or
half time entertainment hoping
for a wardrobe malfunction

Whatever the outcome...there
is always next year when we fans
get to sit on the sidelines once
again to cheer on our favorites
or just plain revel at the game

Being a Detroit Lions fan I only watched from the sideline. I did win a bit since I had a 1st quarter square that paid fifty bucks. Great game but not a big social event for me. Patrick

Yeah! perfect score! I won the Super Bowl Pool! First time in my life I ever picked a square in a Super Bowl Pool and I won! Don't count on this being the start of any kind of gambling streak, mind you... I'm just sayin'... Hey Vivian, Manning must have the soul of a poet, wouldn't you say? Or were you betting on Brady and the boys?

In spite of the fact that Superbowl has become a bunch of adverts interrupted by a game of football it was an enjoyable spectacle. Your last verse says it for all non aligned fans, maybe Raiders next year?

It was a pretty good game, but the star for me was a truly delightful little rescued dog called 'Weego' in one of the Superbowl Bud Light Commercials.

I gave up on football and baseball too quite a few years ago. I either outgrew it or hated the all-powerful unions that seem to want to bankrupt the game. Still, I will be interested in who wins. I root for Eli and company. So! I guess I'm still in the game, huh?

Timely Vivian. I don't have a dog in this fight but I will turn the tele on and listen for the commercials now.

I have played football and I have watched football, I don't mind the hors d'oeuvres, and I like to see the crazy commercials and especially the halftime show.

But I never could understand the male bonding and need to gamble ones last dime on the outcome of a war of strategy and violence where only a few die each year. Since the time of the Greeks, we seem to pit cities against each other in some kind of deathly struggle, as if our life depended upon it.

Oh well, it's time for the game… got a run.
