Dimensions of Heart

Vintage the time
elementary the love
Valentine candy hearts
stamped "Be Mine"

Walking to school side by
side does he or she know
your heart is beating a little
faster wanting just a little
smack on your baby face

Drawn from the lacy heart
decorated box was your
name called the recipient
from the boy or girl You had
such a crush on

Did Cupid intervene pulling
heartstrings or were your
intentions wiled a bit with
cookies and creme

Vintage be your love or modern
day romance...awe of expressing
"I Love You" is still in fashion any
given day when Truly heartfelt

Assess dimensions of loving heart
follow through in moon of night
or sun of day to circumference
a diorama against indifference

Even us old cynics can see paast the commercialization of Valentine's Day. Like you say "I love you" has never gone out of fashion.

I really enjoyed this one, Viv. You've got a knack for pulling at my heartstrings. Walking to school side-by-side, too shy to express my feelings for fear of rejection. My greatest sin of omission as Ogden Nash would say.

Yeah, you right, Vivian, I have finally, at this late date in my life, fully understand what those three little words are really all about. "I love you" is like a blitzkrieg to the heart. Now I understand.
