Dark angel if you are here
for me weep no more for I
have smelled the reality of
your red rose in my fragrant
life cheating devil of his way

Take my saved soul let the
bell toll as new pure white
wings flutter where thunder
speaks loudly of wrongs
lightning for a right way
and rainbows arch clearly
for moving on where the
wind becomes your friend
at your back from beyond

Carpet the sky with soft
billowing clouds to ride upon
and take me home to join
loved family and friends who
drifted away befitting peace
for my days end

When I read this it immediately brought to mind the last section of Grey's "Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard" where the narritive becomes second person. I just wonder how this poem would read if it were written in rhyming couplets.

A beautiful funerary arrangement... The center piece of your bouquet give death a sweet scent and emit soft colors like the peace of a prepared heart. Makes me misty...
