In my youthful foolishness, I let go of a man that I was very much in love with, very soon to regret my actions. I wrote this poem in remembrance of him and our love for one another. Interesting fact: I was reunited with this man many years later when we were both married to others and we remain good friends to this day.

At the dawn of each new day
I find myself searching for you
Can your face be seen in the clouds
Or in the majestic mist
Of the hopeful new day?

I sit on the coarse, cool sand
Looking into the vast ocean before me
Scanning the silver grey horizon
Waiting and watching for your return

I remember the times we sat here before
laughing, loving, alone in our secret paradise
Enamored, with eyes only for one another
Lost in the magic aura of love
That we knew would never end

Our love was woven together
Like a fine piece of tapestry
Only to unravel
When I sent you away

Will I see you emerge from the sea
Like a great shaggy dog
Spraying droplets of water
From your sleek, golden body?

Will you sit beside me again
Remembering other misty mornings
Loving me as you used to
Will you come back to me once again?
I await your return.

Oh, but the magic of this kind of love never leaves the heart...try as we may it persists but time also heals and we wisely remember in our hearts that it (the past) could never be repeated as it is water under the bridge...is it not? We cannot go back but our dreams do not follow that rule.

WELL, I BELIEVE THAT GOD IS IN EVERYTHING AND HIS PERFECT WILL IS ALWAYS DONE. THIS POEM IS VERY INTERESTING, AND...I WONDER; WERE YOU TWO REALLY MEANT TO BE LOVERS...OR JUST AS YOU ARE NOW...GOOD FRIENDS? SEEMS YOU BOTH ARE NOW HAPPILY MARRIED TO THE TWO PEOPLE EACH OF YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE MARRIED TO. SOMETIMES TWO PEOPLE WERE MEANT TO BE JUST 'GOOD FRIENDS' AND THE SPOIL IT BY BECOMING...LOVERS. WRITTEN WITH THE PHRASES AND IMAGERY THAT SUPPORT YOUR THEME WELL. ENJOYED. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS & FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

So delicate...these places in the heart...where
youthful love abides, and You definitely tapped
into it...with the poem You penned!
