Growing Young

An amusing poem, written one day on a whim.

We're not ready yet
For "On Golden Pond"
Too late for "Blue Lagoon"

The midlife years
So perfect now
With harmony
We're in tune

So follow me and
Don't look back;
Our future lies ahead..

We'll not grow old,
No never old
Our love will
Will grow young instead.

Wonderful poem Joy,and I agree: Since age is just a number, I too am growing young.
Thanks for reminding me to keep a fresh mental perspective which allows me to continue to grow young.
Continued success~

I liked this very much Joy! I am not growing older but younger too. I spent my summer with my kids asking questions about my going to a waterpark close by every weekend. I asked myself each time I went, why did I give up this wonderful water experience when I loved it so much in my youth? It made me younger in my spirit and soul and now I seek out the things I liked when I was younger and feel so much better for the change in me. I like growing younger!

Great read!

Joy, So far, I've only read 5 of the 8 poems you've posted, but this is my favorite to this point. I like what I'm seeing and I'll be checking out the rest of them soon.

Nicely done, Dick

PS: Thanks for the review of my recent poem, A NEW BEGINNING. Just now returned from a 1 week cruise and read it a few minutes ago. Comments from accomplished poets such as you always warm me.

Thanks Dick

THIS CERTAINLY IS ONE WAY TO LOOK AT THE 'AGING' PROCESS, WHICH IS JUST AS NATURAL AS BREATHING. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
