God has entered human life,
it happens year by year.
At Christmas time we celebrate
God living with us here.
We first became aware of God
(the God within us all)
When Jesus Christ was born a babe
In a cattle stall.
In many ways it seemed quite strange
That gift to us from God above
But Jesus grew to be a man
And demonstrate God’s love.
He asks us all to follow him
With love that’s strong and tough
He doesn’t take away our pain
But helps us when life’s rough.
So celebrate this Christmastide
And offer up a prayer to him
Of thanks for all he’s done for you
This God of ours, the God Within.
