ART: Vesna

It seems my visit upon this earth

has brought me only longings

how often did I cry at night...needing to shed my belongings

to ones that  would  value find in their  wholly measure

yet dare I now  lose sight of the inner treasure

Faithful life with its tides has kept me on its shores

how long must I remain alone petrified in its claws

fruitless passion tears my soul leaving only famine

cherished thought extinguished now in darkness I examine

Dauntless hopes and gained dreams which once beset my heart

have suffered at the hands of love...torn to shreds in part

is this the design that nudged my soul life to embrace again

or was it a power beyond mine that begot it on a whim?

Sometimes rhymes work for me. In this poem, I like the way you carry the reader to the final lines. I agree with what Gene says here. TY.

I sometimes think that life, all life, is begot on a whim.
I like how your carefully carved lines provoke and stimulate...
in rhyme and my favorite purple. Some day, Vesna, I must learn
to rhyme like that... -gene.

beautiful artwork, beautiful poem....really probes and tugs at the very essence of this life we lead here on earth, this illusion of reality, this low-vibrational prism of visible light, acknowledement of the divine power at the core of the universe.

WONDERFUL ART! THE FACT THAT ONE CAN TALK ABOUT THEIR DISTRESS MEANS THAT THEY ARE ON THE 'UPWARD' ROAD. SO, WHATEVER THEY CHOOSE TO CALL THEIR EXPERIENCES...WHIM?, OR OTHERWISE...IT IS A PART OF LIFE AND THEY CAN VIEW IT AS A 'MOUNTAIN', OR, A 'STEPPING STONE'. GOD BLESS YOU AND THANKS FOR SHARING.
