Accept the Light

He rises from the grave cold
his breath a stench musky old
he silently walks amongst men
not knowing why he left the glen
and the cavern which was home
now he wanders angry alone

His darkness touches many souls
what does his agony and pain embold
is it a mind that's lost its dreams
perhaps agony in a body that screams

His heart cries for love I know
how can I help if he won't show
the wound that festers night and day
all I can do is pray

Only light and love can heal
the bleeding heart desolation real
gather yourself and turn your face
towards the love and the grace
which flows to you oh lost one
accept the light and let's be done

I enjoyed this immensely. I visualized a tormented spirit; a phantom; a ghost; a bitter refusal to relenquish a haunting bitterness or anger. As a spiritual medium your verses seem to call to him to move toward the light, to surrender to love and finally break with the umbilicus of his pain and 'be done.'
