Spring
I hear you laugh:
A sweet returning memory.
I see you smile:
A shaft of sunlight pierces through
The clouds of my chill winter,
Which lingered for so long.
And oh, I know
The wound is healed:
My thoughtlessness forgiven.
I am aware, not by your words
Which are so hard for you to say,
But by your deeds.
And in these small, sweet offerings,
My light heart thrills to know
You love me once again.
