For the love of the music and his instrument.

His fingers lead to time’s caress

As sounds like brightly coloured silk

Resonate from ancient walls

As rich and warm as mother’s milk

Elbow poised to guide his bow

He draws a note from deep within

His music touches all who hear

With passion and seductive sin

All he feels etched on his face

His body lost to music’s sway

Eyes closed, his soul is quite immersed

Nay, drenched, in melodic affray

As Lonely cry of violin

Bursts forth with melancholic song

And spell-bound ears, hearts and minds

Reverberate and sing along.

Enormously effective writing. My favorite line - "All he feels etched on his face," but the entire work, for me, is more gorgeous a piece of art than the art under which it is placed, which itself is pretty magnificent. ~~ Diana

How beautifully you paint the picture of this artist. His passionate love affair found in the instrument of his choosing that he so sways into... lost in the vibratory melancholy of it. Beautifully written darlin'

Ruan,
Your words entone a symphony of emotions right off the page. I hear his love playing to the heavens and we only allowed to eaves drop in. Wonderful in every way, I personnaly have missed reading you recently.

Enchanting. I recall visiting a man's house one time who collected antiques. He brought out a “fiddle” that he had traded from an old man on a mountaintop in West Virginia. Inside, the words “Antonio Stradivarius” were clearly seen. There are many fakes and imitations out there, so it could have been one of those. But when the man drew a few strokes on the bow, the sound was so resonant and pure that it sent shivers down my spine. I've never heard anything so beautiful in my life.

Damn, Ruan, I could almost hear that fiddle . . . er . . . violin, and the haunting of it, I know, would have been with me for days, if not weeks. Your magic with words is apparent here.
