I wrote this in response to feeling anxious and "bad" after having to ask someone for something again knowing they were busy with something else. Emotionally still growing.

Still feel like a kid

Not a woman yet?

In a woman's grown up body

Beneath the skin and skeleton

is the little one

She bites at her nail

and quickly distracts herself:

food, a man, a book, the internet

Something to take her away

from the initial discomfort,

the long trail of anxiety behind her

What was it they used to say?

No words come back

but the feeling does

Huddle in corners and play with her tail

Somebody's annoyed with her

Whatever could she ever do?

Knocking glasses off the desk

Clumsy hands

It's been like this and how else could it be?

How else could she be?

Where is the place where

it is OK to be regardless of

what might be said....what might

be thought......where is SHE?

Awww... ...so sweet, Natosha. So honest. I can so relate. People tell me all the time that I never grew up. Sorry. That's me. Lol! I love what you have shared here via your verses. Thank you. Love and best wishes,

Regis

To some extent, freedom comes with maturity. (True freedom comes from knowing Jesus Christ)
I like your NON-rhyming style, and your questioning thoughts.

Touchingly honest and personal...It is safe to just 'be' anywhere but necessary to 'own' permission to do so...that's the hard part little woman.

These words seem filled with pain, doubt, and anguish. This 'little woman' is growing every day.

One day at a time, one step at a time. It will happen in good time and what an emotionally sweet write...

Be always safe,
Karen
