the world outside stirs

seems it’s time to leave

but it is not, cannot

be that time

rolling to my side

reaching out yet again

my finger grazes your shoulder

like a silken feather

slipping to trace the slight curve of your side

determined to savor, to stay this moment

sliding to your waist and around

seeking

to remove the subtle distance

remaining

skin to skin

my hand clasped in yours

safe on your chest

your back to my breast

in the fold of my arms

both finding shelter, finding solace

in a world of our own

soft, easy breaths

a whispered caress

safe and sheltering arms

our strength is in

this world we share

skin to skin

heart to heart

soul to soul

untouchable

invincible

sacred
