Lady's Choice
By Handsum-Hart

If she meets me, at the Gateway of India
I will escort her as my princess
To the Taj Mahal Palace
And clothe her
In an elegant, backless, divalicious evening dress
Then treat her to a cannot-be-forgotten night
Of cha cha dancing
With lots of lovey-dovey flirting on the dance floor

If she meets me, north of the Alps
In the birthplace of Wolfgang Mozart
I will play soft songs from his musical works
On a baby grand piano for her
Until teardrops filled with happy emotions
Escape from her eyes
And form two tiny waterfalls on her face
For me to drink from

If she meets me, 100 miles east of Paris
In the province of Champagne
Which is best known for its sparkling white wine
I will pour the juice from Chardonnay grapes
Upon my lips and intoxicate her soul
With my romantic kisses

If she meets me, in the Aegean Sea
On the island of Milo
Where the statue of Venus was found
I will make her my Goddess of Love and Beauty
By putting my eyesight to bed
Under a blanket of her dreamy beauty
And by making an eternal gift
Of my love to her heart

A very romantic piece. Starting each verse with "If she meets me..." gives this poem a wonderful sweep-her-off-her-feet feel. Nicely done:)

A travelogue of love. It is interesting that today we can create these illusions without actually going there. Some places like Taj Mahal, when seen close-up lose their romantic aura in fullness of time.

Good to read you again. Hope your pain is over.

It is very nice to read you again, Monsieur Romantique. Lovely sentiments... ...I should warn you though, they can get you in trouble (LOL!!!). Love and peace,

What a lovely romantic journey, dear Hart...and lucky is the lady who in reality enjoys your attention!

OMG Ron this is just so romantic and very beautiful. To have a love like that in one's life would be a dream come true for most of us. The romantic images that flow from this poem just makes the heart so glad that there is real beauty in the world. And that backless gown in the picture is just divine. I wish I had one like it. And everything you say in here is definitely a lady's choice. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for your comment on my poem Normal For My Age.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love and who love you, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie
