My Greatest Love

I can’t believe it…here,

Standing before me,

Is my greatest love of all.

And yet, I can do nothing,

As I am betrothed to another,

For my heart aches,

like it never has before.

But what can I do?

I see your eyes,

 Crying out for this love,

I sense our hearts,

Stirring with desire…

And passion so intense…

…I can barely stand.

I know I thought…

I had loved another,

But my forever love,

 Stands before me,

Arms outstretched…waiting...

I, anticipating the embrace,

Can but only walk away-

And hang my head in sorrow.

Truly sad piece but the sentiments were expressed so well and so vividly. I know of which you speak through experience and what we once had and lost can never really be brought back to life again once the passion wears off. The vows we kept must be honored unless you are being completely ignored or abused for the sin of our thoughts destroys the validity of our own integrity and self respect. Beautiful expression, Fawn...you do this so well.

Love found and lost.
I don't think I could be so brave.

Enjoyed reading.
