...

the fire breathed its last;
its warmth able to sustain no longer;
formed ashes now burn in the cold,
now dust unrecognizable
in the wind's fierce sweeping.

the wind:
unfamiliar to what it carries;
takes away the remains of what once
a cheerful soul, soulful heart, now
nought but ashes without a fire;
mere dust to the wild wind.

dust, thus i am.
i have become, inevitably,
without you.
