originally written on this same day, eight years ago.

I slipped into the twilight
the zone out of their reach
i slipped into the dark, light
on and on they preach
behind the walls of deception
beyond the grail and stone
immaculate conceptions
we've created this on our own
time
in ryhmn
is irrelevant
though painfully spent
creating,killing
drowning, instilling
truth and lies
such things to despise
inadequcies clouded
beauty shrowded
nakedness torn
honesty sworn
falseness often evident
fantasy heaven sent
fatal error
bloody terror
shadows graves
mocked slaves
lovers true
me, them, you
past and present
twisted and bent
free for some
in time it will come
to us all
the Great Fall
the block, the barracade
entrapment self made
self taught
we rot
in thought
amused
confused
used
fused
til it's gone
come the new Dawn
pen strikes paper
the silent raper
of souls
goals
mended
defended
commended
gone...empty
back within thee
pen strikes paper
the silent....
the silent raper
strips the mind
the author never shall one
undermine
do you know
will you go
dare you stay
'we' know
come or go
yes or no
torn
sworn
worn
you're not the only one.....
DONE.

You shouldn't have waited eight years to enlighten us. I sense a general concern about the unnatural, natural order of things as we humans have evolved them, including the idea of mating for life. Social sanctions can be strong, but you appear stronger in this poem.

NICE!!! It was worth repeating. I presume the eight years is a milestone. Kinda sounds like a "KISS OFF." ... Always wondered why we call it a kiss off when seldom do we kiss when we send them packing. Dick

So much pain one feels here. A most intellectual write of the human condition. Battered and bruised is the poems tale. Yet the blank page can be cathartic. However, one can't but see a deeper insight. Men and our bloody testosterone has caused most wars, heartache and the ego that will never cease to continue, that is, unless women take power and instead of war, they go for a chat whilst shoe shopping and handbag, along with a chat in B n N's coffee shop. Yup, a representative from every nation chatting about those secret things that women do. And then say, "sure, no more war! Let's have a UN meeting, say, next Tuesday as Macy's has a half price sale on just about everything, except tools, cars, TV's, Hmm, let's vote on canceling the football season until all those chores of the past 15 years are done."
