".....now i lay me down
          to sleep
i pray the Lord my Soul to keep."

"if I should Die before
          i wake i pray
The Lord
My soul to Take..."

                    amen.

and they sit beside her on their knees
holding her hand so frail
deafening tears, empty pleas
will go with them all to hell

"but why......why"
they sob
"how could He do this..."
"how could He take her away..."

and her eyelids flutter
remembering how
like butter
it drips down the plow

"oh my God,... */*/*"
"oh my God she's ok"
"why did you do this...why"

she smiles as they kiss her
in vain

a single tear runs
down her flush cheek

"because...."

the words quietly, honestly leave her
in her final breath

"you let me"
