Love Unused

the street is awash with dreams
there are gulps of air
within the darkness of the shadow
the street moon-lit, awash with lovers
love, sweet, sweet love
how I have waited for you
to knock on my door
no matter that you've been a long time coming
no matter our love is unorthodox
no matter
it will be a longer time
as we sigh our lover's sighs

hazel eyes sing to me
songs of my heart
speak to me words of  heartfelt emotion
I sense serenity
I see a goddess astride her steed
it is you
as I always knew it would be
please accept all this pent-up love

the love
I was unable to give to the rest of them
is all yours now

I can't think of any woman that would not love to have such words and feelings written for them.... This should be in a Hallmark card..

Beautiful piece of writing, Jerry

Just imagine, all your stored up love that you have held within your soul... imagine... throughout your entire wait that "long time coming" finally arrives. Just imagine Jerry, how blessed this fair lady would be to have you embellish it all upon her... All the wonderful beautiful songs that you have held within your heart and soul... to even cherish this fortunate lady as you describe "I sense serenity

I see a goddess astride her steed

it is you

as I always knew it would be

please accept all this pent-up love"

How absolutely wonderful it would be, it would be heaven for you, but not only you her as well. :)

Beautiful Jerry, absolutely beautiful.

Love and Light

Perhaps this piece is exploring the maxim: when the student is ready the teacher will appear. We sometimes forget that love comes in lessons we often ignore, even when they are most apparent. Still, the sense of "unused" is a haunting concern for those of us who at one time or another were ready but the teacher/love did not appeared. Hang in there. The brain and heart work in concert and sooner or later what appears dissonant now will harmonize.

"no matter our love is unorthodox" Unorthodox??? You mean there are rules? Now's a fine time for me to be finding that out.... Where were you when I was in my fifty's and early 60's?

All kidding aside, another nice one Jerry. Dick

... you better knock, knock, knock... on wood! Would you now? Truly wooed, Jerry... I hear you knocking...

I like the line about the "pent-up love" ... good one...

Jerry,
hope there is the knock at the door and she accepts that precious gift.
