Orion's Frown

a zephyr moves the night
giving the trees their soft sway
rustling leaves
'neath the moon's glow
bright tonight
like a highlight from heavens' portal
causing the dark to recede
spotlighting the grass
bending in cadence with the leaves
as they quiver from the gentle wind
serene is the night
then . . .
harsh light streams through an opened window
naked is the beam it projects
fat, harsh
are the colors as it stabs the night
noise from inside the opened window
strident laughing
disrupting the peace and quiet of before
as though by rote
the leaves began their dance
as if trying to
come to terms with the harshness
of the window's bright
and now
the constellation
Orion, the Hunter watches with
frowning intensity

This is neat imagery! random thought I am irritated with the whole mercury light bulb thing, stupid. Harsh light indeed. That thought aside, liked this Jerry.

I can actually see what's going on and hear the sounds! Fantastic!

Graphic wordsmithing of what could be argued is fear vs enlightenment. Enjoyed the delicate layering as the intensity rose.

Nice... a science fiction affect! I can see this zephyr's
westerly wind in the darkness of night moving
everything ominously as all sleep!

I can hear the deep bellow of the laugh! Orion will have
to watch warily of what comes his direction! :)

Great Jerry :)
