cheap California burgundy
gesticulating carelessly
swirling dangerously in fine crystal
longing to be supped, sipped, inhaled
wobbling treacherously beyond the void
I sweep my hand toward
expensive perfume
which fails to hide your animal sensuousness
I sniff and wobble, wobble and sniff
following a trajectory beneath a smudged moon
sensing your animalistic nature and soul
I know you're not satisfied in your restraint
we talk politely
offer each other suitable, though forced banter
as we courteously speak
it is our eyes
perfidious holes, each sensing
black depths of our souls
even darker pleasantries of our past
you realize
I am but one more beastly shadow
stalking your manicured turf
we clink glasses
in the superficialness of the night's blushing
I'm almost angrily in lust
staring at the enjoyable arch of your neck
in the distorted yellow of the moon's smolder
you lean into me asking
for a kiss
my mouth trembles
understanding the night is ours
time for flesh to consume flesh

Happy for today's new vocabulary word: Perfidious. This piece sets well on the page for me, with congruency and consistency of characters and tone. I respect the clear unconstraint in the content, the unabashed admittance in these lines: "I sweep my hand toward expensive perfume/which fails to hide your animal sensuousness" and this one: "I am but one more beastly shadow"; then the acknowlegment of reciprocative likeness: "I know you're not satisfied in your restraint". If I were to give this poem a one-word response, it would be: "instinct." Pretty good description of perfidiousness. A+ ~~ Diana

A very sexy and provacative word play to sate the reader with a type of visual, sensual foreplay. Your words sear the paper with a smoky haze. WOW!

The air vibrates of sensuality and beastly lust
But somehow you don’t say a word to much to break the spell
The tense remains till the last word

Great write Jerry
