A poem which was inspired by the attached photo..sent by a friend..i wasn't sure what to make of it at first..a window..with a blind across..then the idea came to mind..what to write..

The world outside seems to beckon me so

But fear always stops me from leaving

A view from the window is all I know

If I step out the door my chest begins heaving

The shortness of breath as panic sets in

My limbs go weak & I cannot move

I venture no further as my head starts to spin

I summon the strength to go back inside

As I close the door I then become calm

Safe in a place where I can now hide

Away from a world that may do me harm

The view from the window is still there to see

If that gets too much I can close the blind

I don’t understand what’s wrong with me

To others it seems I’m out of my mind

The outside makes me an emotional wreck

Full of panic & in floods of tears

One day I hope to make one little trek

Then maybe that would conquer my fears

I've had panic attacks in the past, acting just like this, but not for years and years so i feel God is with me and looking over me.
Friends help too as does keeping busy. A good metaphor of fears here.

My sister and niece suffered long years with agoraphobia, locked inside themselves, unable to face the public.

Fortunately, both got help from a drug, I don't know which one, but both were able to get over their fear and operate in the world again–both very successfully–I might add.
